A level results day should be a day where all the hard work of the last two years has come to fruition with our students securing their university places and our tutors breathing sighs of relief!

This is my 3rd day and so far I’ve done a mountain of work! I’ve done a number of print templates for the new editions of the company work books and then printed and bound them all. I’ve written emails to a variety of people regarding different topics. I’ve also had the chance to write an invoice which I franked and filed a copy into the system.

I was involved in an hour long video conference with Elize, an A Level Law tutor. I asked her some questions about teaching and how video conferencing is different to being in a classroom. I gained some useful tips and information and found the whole experience interesting.

I’ve also become a professional tea maker.

So far, my favourite bit about my work experience has been doing the video conference with Elize.

Well, it’s that time of year again and we’re busy here at Direct Education working out our tutors’ timetables for September. Thank you to all those link teachers who have already submitted their preferred slots, Jacqui will be in touch in the coming weeks and months to finalise arrangements.

Students can find a brand new support forum which they can join and communicate with other students studying the same Direct Education distance learning course in schools miles away. They will also be able to use this to communicate with staff in our head office.

School staff will be able to access information about Direct Education more easily and request further information and visits.

The new blog will inform the Direct Education community about the latest news and events – so remember to keep checking back to discover exciting new developments!
